Legal Counsel – Global Pharma – Boston MA with hybrid / flexible working - $negotiable DoE, + benefits
The Company
This is an exciting time to join a global, market leading pharmaceutical company. Pioneering innovative therapies for a range of diseases, this company is growing at an exponential rate. With a huge presence in the EU, they are now launching in the United States and are recruiting a Legal Counsel to further assist in this growth.
The Role
- Providing support on all legal and compliance matters with US relevance.
- Identifying, assessing and mitigating legal and compliance risks in collaboration with HQ (EU based) and US management to develop strategies helping to avoid potential pitfalls.
- Supporting and managing (in-house corporate legal management) potential litigation cases and dispute resolution.
- Supporting the US General Manager in day-to-day business from a legal and compliance perspective.
- Drafting, negotiating and reviewing various legal documents and agreements for the US.
- Identifying legal and commercial risks within the US business and offer legal guidance and support.
- Examining material, such as advertisements for legal and compliance implications.
- Undertaking various “corporate housekeeping” matters.
You
- Graduated from a US law school (J.D.)
- In-depth knowledge of US pharmaceutical law, regulations, and codes
- Knowledge of US IP law, competition law, product liability law, corporate law, employment law, and dispute resolution
- Managing compliance programs in line with industry standards
- Regulatory knowledge (including FDA processes, litigation, Hatch-Waxman, etc.)
- Contract drafting and negotiating skills
- Litigation and dispute resolution skills, including negotiation of dispute resolution settlements
- Risk management skills to identify, assess and mitigate legal and compliance risks associated with pharmaceutical operations and business strategies
- Good communication skills with both legal and non-legal professionals
