Interim General Manager (Head of US) – Global Pharma – Boston MA with hybrid / flexible working - $negotiable DoE, 6 month contract initially
The Company
This is an exciting time to join a global, market leading pharmaceutical company. Pioneering innovative therapies for a range of diseases, this company is growing at an exponential rate. With a huge presence in the EU, they are now launching in the United States and are recruiting an Interim General Manager to establish and head up the US entity (with the support of a Legal Counsel and IP Manager).
The Role
This individual will play a critical role in establishing and leading the organization’s U.S. presence, ensuring commercial success, and shaping a high-performance culture that drives sustainable growth.
- Providing support on all legal and compliance matters with US relevance.
- Leading the day-to-day operations of the U.S. entity, including full budget management, resource allocation, and strategic planning to achieve profit targets.
- Oversee the full profit and loss responsibility for the U.S. entity
- Serve as a key strategic partner to the Chief Commercial Officer, spearheading the successful market entry and expansion efforts in the U.S.
- Act as the external representative of the company in the U.S., managing strategic partnerships and leading sales and field operations.
- Oversee the successful launch of the organization’s U.S. product while optimizing strategic partnerships
You
- Commercial Leadership Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership roles in commercial functions, with a track record of successfully leading sales and marketing teams in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
- Commercialization & Launch Excellence: Extensive experience in preparing for and executing commercial product launches, including strategic planning, market analysis, and execution to maximize commercial success.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex marketing strategies into actionable sales plans. Strong experience in product positioning, payer strategies, pricing models, and distribution planning.
- Knowledge & experience of multiple therapy areas
- Hold a customer centric approach with a customer first mindset
- Inspiring & Influential Leadership: A credible and dynamic leader who fosters collaboration across teams and functions.
