Business Development Specialist – Research Services - Reading – From £45,000

The Company

We’re partnered with a client looking to make a genuine difference in rare patient groups and those suffering from rare diseases. Their aim is to integrate the perspectives, experiences, and needs of patients into the development and execution of healthcare solutions, particularly in the pharmaceutical and clinical research industries.

This initiative ensures that patient input is a key component of decision-making, contributing to the creation of more patient-centric products, services, and strategies.

Key aspects of their offering include:

  • Real-World Evidence Collection: Gathering data directly from patients about their experiences with conditions, treatments, and healthcare systems.
  • Patient-centred Insights: Analysing patient feedback to influence product development, clinical trials, and market strategies.
  • Advocacy and Engagement: Facilitating patient involvement in clinical research, regulatory discussions, and treatment design to ensure their needs and priorities are represented.
  • Educational Initiatives: Providing tools and platforms to educate stakeholders (pharma companies, CROs, etc.) on the value of patient input and how to integrate it effectively.

By leveraging these elements, their aim is to bridge the gap between patients, researchers, and pharmaceutical companies, ultimately leading to more effective and compassionate healthcare solutions.

The Role

Core responsibilities of the role are as follows;

New Account Development:

  • Identify and engage new clients, focusing on Real-World Solutions for pharma companies.
  • Create and share promotional materials and analyze competitive positioning.
  • Convert leads into sales and expand the offering's reach.

Key Account Management:

  • Develop account plans and performance metrics for existing clients.
  • Review and improve client relationships to grow current business.

Marketing & Thought Leadership:

  • Identify and attend relevant conferences.
  • Ensure team preparedness to represent the offering effectively.
  • Network to enhance awareness and visibility of the Patient Voice initiative.

You

Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following;

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Have gained a minimum 5 years of commercial sales experience with proven results.
  • Possess strong marketing skills and ability to communicate value propositions clearly.
  • Demonstrate Excellent networking and interpersonal skills.
  • Show a passion for integrating patient perspectives into pharma decision-making.
  • Be comfortable in a fast-paced, high-turnover project environment.
